Free legal assistance for Santa Clara County residents 60+ with problems pertaining to Social Security, Medicare, Medi-Cal, mobile homes, elder abuse, housing, and Durable Power of Attorney.  

2nd and 4th Thursdays

Dementia Support Group

This group provides a safe place for family members and friends of dementia patients to share feelings, concerns and information.  Caregivers will find support and learn how they can help cope with the symptoms and life changes caused by dementia, Alzheimer's disease and other related disorders.

Computer Drop In Help Center (Computer Co-Pilots

Do you have a new laptop, tablet or smart phone and your're not sure how to use it to its full potential?  Keep yourself connected by learning how to send and receive text messages, use mobile email and the internet, share photos, FaceTime and download apps.  

This volunteer facilitated drop in center will help you unlock and explore the many features of your laptop or mobile device.  
 

No experience necessary.  Please bring your laptop, tablet computer or smartphone, if possible.

Once a month, our skilled volunteers will teach a specific class based upon the needs of its students.  On February 12, they will be talking about "Cybersecurity".

Health Insurance Counseling and Advocacy Program

2nd and 4th Friday

9:00am - 12:00pm

Advance appointment required, register at the Senior Center Welcome Desk.  

Counselors will assist seniors and their families to understand and evaluate the confusing array of insurance options.  This service is offered through Sourcewise and is not affiliated with any insurance company.  This program offers unbiased information solely to aid seniors in making informed decisions about coverage.  

AARP Tax Aide for Seniors 50+

The IRS Certified Tax Aide Volunteers prepare taxes free of charge for Older Adults during the months of February through April 15.  Volunteers will file taxes electronically.  They will not process returns for rental properties, businesses, or high income earners.  Please call the Senior Center Welcome Desk for an appointment beginning in December.

Find Your Perfect Housemate

The House Sharing Program helps match people with their ideal housemate.  All you need is a spare room.  Catholic Charities then helps you match with someone who is looking for an affordable place to live.  No two house sharing situations are alike; each is tailored to the needs and desires of the people involved.  For more information on the program, visit the House Sharing website at www.catholiccharitiesscc.org/house-sharing.
